Answers to frequently asked questions about the use of digital medical scribes at Rocky Medical Clinic

Why are you using digital scribe technology?

Your provider may use digital scribe technology to help document your visit. This allows us to focus more on you during your visit, rather than typing notes. This can improve the quality of our interaction and ensure important details are captured accurately.

How does it work?

The program follows the audible portion of your conversation with your doctor. It creates a written medical summary with relevant information regarding your visit. Your provider the personally reviews, edits, and approves the summary and adds it into your secure Electronic Medical Record here at Rocky Medical Clinic. The written summary and original conversation transcript are NOT saved/stored permanently. When the provider finished the interaction in the software, everything is erased. Only the summary remains in your secure Electronic Medical Record, the same place where all your medical information is stored at Rocky Medical Clinic.

Is my information secure?

Yes. Your privacy is very important to us. No audio or text recordings are stored after your visit notes are completed and your information is never shared or reviewed by third parties.

What are the benefits for patients?

Your doctor will spend less time on their computer taking notes and more time interacting with you face-to-face.

Do I have a choice? Is it AI?

What Are Colds?

Colds are the most common infection of the nose, sinuses, or throat (upper respiratory infection). Colds are caused by viruses. They’re spread by coughs, sneezes, and close contact. You can catch a cold at any time of year, but they’re more common in late winter and early spring. There’s no cure for colds.

IMPORTANT REMINDER

Verbal abuse of our staff will NOT be tolerated, and is grounds for dismissal and banning from our clinic premises.

There is a provincial and countrywide shortage of family physicians. This is a systematic problem, NOT the fault of our staff.

Our staff deserve to work in a safe environment.

Being told to “go F*** themselves” or other rude and inappropriate language is unacceptable. Please keep in mind that we are all doing the best that we can with the resources we have available.

Thank you.
